Chinese scientists have measured the level of radiation humans will be exposed to on the lunar surface. This level turned out to be 200 times higher than the radiation on the Earth’s surface.
Chinese scientists have measured the level of radiation on the moon for the first time.
The scientists made the calculation based on data from the Chinese exploration vehicle Chang’e 4, which was operating on the moon in 2019, to determine the daily dose of radiation on the lunar surface.
200 TIMES MORE RADIATION ON THE MOON
According to the results, the radiation rate on the Moon is 200 times higher than on Earth.
The researchers concluded that the Moon is safe for astronauts when appropriate protective clothing is worn, according to the measurements.
