A passenger test flight was made in the flying car project conducted by SkyDrive in Japan.
In the footage of the test flight shared with journalists by company officials, the vehicle was seen rising 1-2 meters with its propellers and remaining in the air for 4 minutes.
Tomohiro Fukuzawa, the head of the SkyDrive initiative, said in a statement that in 2023 the flying car could replace it in real life, but that it was important to make it safe.
Fukuzawa noted that over 100 flying car projects have been carried out around the world, while only a few have been successful in passenger flights.
Fukuzawa, who stated that the flying car has so far only stayed in the air for 5 to 10 minutes, said that if the car can fly for 30 minutes, it may have more potential, including export.
THE OPPORTUNITY TO TRAVEL FAST
Unlike aircraft and helicopters, “electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL)” aircraft offer faster travel for personal journeys in principle.
