The Asteroid is believed to be the American Aerospace Agency’s (NASA) spacecraft that crashed to earth.
NASA announced that the spacecraft had safely crashed to earth and burned in the atmosphere.
After entering the atmosphere, the burning spacecraft was perceived by many as an asteroid.
But subsequent observations revealed that it was not an asteroid, but actually a man-made object.
The vehicle, which crashed to earth over the South Pacific on Saturday, caused no damage, Britain’s Independent newspaper reported.
NASA had recently assured the public that the spacecraft posed no threat to our planet or anyone on it.
Launched in 1964, the Orbiting Geophysics Observatory 1 (OGO-1) spacecraft served for 5 years, and in 1969, the vehicle was put on standby at the point where scientists could not obtain more data.
